I am Kezzie Rudd-Walton, the creator of Kezzie's Konfections, my Lifestyle Blog that also offers for sale Hand-made crafts and Organic, All Natural Sugar Scrubs and Fragrances. Additionally, I am an Educator, Entrepreneur, Journalist, and industrious Mother of two!

Why did I Decide To Blog?

I have always been inquisitive and loved to express myself through writing. The “journalism bug” bit me in high school when I was on my high school newspaper. In college, I worked both in front of and behind the camera interviewing various dignitaries for my Media courses, which earned me a Broadcast Journalism Excellence Award. Later, I graduated from college with a Bachelors in Mass Communications in 1999. After graduating, I worked as an Executive Director of a non-profit organization and completed a Masters in Organizational Management before pursuing a career in the field of Education.

In 2007, I began a Masters of Education in Reading and earned my Teacher’s Certification through that program. My teaching career began when I taught my first middle school class in English Literature and Composition. What an experience! Interestingly, I have taught students from every grade level from 1st — 11th Grades. I am certified to teach all subjects, which makes me pretty knowledgeable about many facets of life. I specialize in the area of Dyslexia as I worked for five years as a Dyslexia Therapist. 

Currently, I work as a Certified Educational Diagnostician for a public school district and an Educational Consultant. The Literacy Suite is my Educational Consulting Firm in which I provide a place to gather resources, materials, and advice related to all facets of Education. Additionally, I offer Educational Consulting to include Psycho-educational assessments, IEP Recommendations/Accommodations, Dyslexia remediation, instructional strategies, and Educational products.

With that being said, I started my blog as a simple creative outlet not only to offer my opinion about the latest products and services, but to also offer my expertise and advice in many areas of life and establish an online community. I hope to inspire young girls to follow their passions in life and share them with the world.
